Purchasing a New Construction Home

Many people love the idea of purchasing a home before it has been built, wanting to choose finishes and have a say in the final design. As fun as this might sound, this typically isn’t an easy process.

Most builders will severely limit changes/customization/upgrades or won’t allow them at all. When you do find a builder that offers the ability to make changes/upgrades, a design center is usually involved. Design centers will have a few base options for buyers to choose from, as well as upgrade options. Be careful, sometimes these options can greatly increase the price of the home (i.e. hardwood floors).
